Brattleboro Police Association Joins Forces with United Federation of Police Officers
for Stronger and More Effective Representation
Brattleboro, VT – September 25, 2025 – The Brattleboro Police Association, one of the largest municipal law enforcement agencies in Vermont, has officially selected the United Federation of Police Officers (UFPO) as their new labor representative, parting ways with their former union in pursuit of stronger, more responsive, and committed representation.
This decision follows a vote of confidence by Brattleboro’s law enforcement professionals, who cited the UFPO staff’s proven track record of advocacy, negotiation strength, and unwavering support for law enforcement professionals across the state.
“We are proud to welcome the Brattleboro Police Association into the UFPO family,” said UFPO Representative Chris Hoar. “These law enforcement professionals protect their community every day. Our mission is to ensure they are protected, supported, and heard, on the job, at the bargaining table and in the legislature.”
The Brattleboro Police Association’s decision reflects a growing trend among departments seeking more responsive and service-oriented union representation. With the UFPO’s support, Brattleboro’s law enforcement professionals can focus on what they do best: serving and protecting their community.
