New York State Police Officers Memorial Day Ceremony

May 5th, UFPO joined law enforcement agencies from across New York State at the New York State Police Officers Memorial to honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

New York’s Police Officers Memorial is located at the Empire State Plaza in Albany and honors law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty across the state. This year, Governor Kathy Hochul honored 56 fallen officers from eight departments, adding their names to the memorial wall, which now includes 1,964 officers from 157 agencies and six federal law enforcement agencies.

As part of the observance, state landmarks such as the Empire State Plaza, Grand Central Terminal, and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge are illuminated in blue on the evening of May 6 to honor the fallen.

This solemn occasion is a reminder of the courage, duty, and selflessness shown every day by the men and women who wear the badge — and of the families who carry their legacy forward.

We remember the fallen. We honor their sacrifice. We stand with their families, their departments, and every officer who continues the mission. Never Forget.
