A Morning of Reflection at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
On Thursday morning, while attending the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund’s Board of Directors meeting, I spent some quiet time with a cup of coffee, walking through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The memorial is truly hallowed ground—a beautiful, solemn, and deeply moving place. Walking along its walls and seeing others pause before the thousands of names of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice is a powerful reminder of the lives behind every name, as well as the families and loved ones they left behind.
The experience also reinforced the critical importance of the work carried out by the United Federation of Police Officers and the Board of Directors of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Their efforts help ensure that the memory of these officers is carried forward and never forgotten.
I am grateful for the quiet time that morning to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave their lives in service to others.
