UFPO Volunteers of Behalf of Disabled Veterans

Members of the United Federation of Police Officers, along with dozens of other volunteers and guests took part in the 68 Annual Disabled Veterans Fishing Outing, a very special day for veterans who live in local hospitals. A makeshift fleet of lobsterman, charter fisherman and personal boats sailed from the Quincy Yacht Club, so that over 200 disabled veterans could enjoy an afternoon of fishing and a catered meal that was served by the volunteers.

For more than 65 years, Harvey’s Saltwater Fishing Club had invited veterans from hospitals in the area to take part in the fishing trip, as this year’s event was held to honor the 250 years of our country and the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

McArdle, Acting President of UFPO, reflecting on the day saying, “It’s a great group of people that organize this fishing trip each year to be able thank our disabled veterans for their service to our great nation. We at the United Federation of Police Officers are grateful to be asked to take part in this beautiful day and to help the men and women who bravely served our country”.
